The Triple Bypass Bicycle Race is not for the faint of heart.

The annual race is recognized as one of the premier cycling events in the nation, taking its riders on a gorgeous tour through the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Participants traverse 120+ miles of terrain through 3 Colorado mountain passes, experiencing over 10,000 feet of elevation gain along the way.

To say these dedicated riders work up a hunger by the time they reach the finish line is certainly an understatement!

Luckily, amongst the food and beverage sponsors for the annual test of endurance is McDevitt Taco Supply.

McDevitt Taco Supply, located in Boulder, CO, is no stranger to churning out mass amounts of quality food to extremely hungry and perhaps exhausted customers.  Under the banner of Super Heady Tacos, McDevitt’s has been feeding tens of thousands of famished folks at popular multi-day music festivals around the country.

Owner Bradford McDevitt has even been a “Chef at Sea,” charged with supplying sustenance to thousands of ravenous late-night partiers on the famed Jam Cruise in 2019.

So, when the call came to assist in feeding over 4,000 bicyclists coming directly off of a 120+ mile ride at over 10,000 feet of Colorado elevation, McDevitt Taco Supply knew just what to do.

Armed with Green Chiles and Chicken Tacos made with New Mexico Hatch Green Chiles, Garlic Black Pepper Steak using Castle Rock local beef, and Vegan Tempeh Tacos topped with fresh Kale salad, the McDevitt Team of Taco Slingers went to work!

50+ McDevitt Taco Slingers made the trek to Avon, CO to assist in the process.  McDevitt’s team set up 9 serving stations, each staffed with 5 Taco Slingers, to ensure that no Triple Bypass participant would go hungry for long.

When the 4,000+ Triple Bypass Riders completed their journey, they were met by a smiling and dancing group of Taco Slingers that know how to have a good time while working hard – something that these competitive bicyclists can surely relate to.  With a soundtrack of upbeat music setting the tone, the Taco Slingers set to the task of refueling the deserving group of race participants.

At the end of the day, 15,000 Tacos were served to the 4,000 Triple Bypass participants.

One Triple Bypass participant sums up the finish line feast best, exclaiming, “It’s why we ride, man!”

See you in 2022!
